Materials Cut
Each OMAX waterjet JetMachining Center is designed to easily cut an array of materials and thickness, from stone, metal, plastic and glass, to rubber, ceramics and composites. Currently, precision waterjet cutting applications involve metals such as aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, mild steel and titanium, all materials commonly used in many engineering applications, with the ability to quickly and accurately waterjet cut machine nearly any two-dimensional shape imaginable in thickness up to 9".

Typical Applications
Job Shops: Produce a wide variety of short-run parts
Wire EDM Shops: Save valuable machine time where ±0.001" is acceptable (OMAX Model 2626|xp) or where ±0.005" is acceptable (all other OMAX models)
Laser Shops and Aerospace Industry: Work with materials that are affected by heat (such as titanium, and aluminum) or materials that laser can not cut (such as thicker metal or composites)
Prototype and R&D Shops: Work directly from CAD drawings
Maintenance and Repair Shops: Quickly produce one-off parts
Original Equipment Manufacturers: Control Just-in-Time inventory requirements
Metal Fabricators: Offer "clean edge" plate work, such as brackets, machine parts and weldments
Architectural Fabricators: Lets you create complex designs in glass, stone, tile and metal Abrasivejet
Waterjet Specialty Shops: Makes parts with higher tolerance than any other abrasivejet system
Industrial Manufacturers: Minimize scrap when working with expensive materials

Some other typical users of abrasivejet technology:
Job shops Job shops produce a wide variety of short-run parts. OMAX's ability to create tool paths quickly and easily let job shops effectively compete even on small runs of parts. AbrasiveJet machining complements CNC milling machines and flame cutters.
Wire EDM shops The OMAX JetMachining Center works well in wire EDM shops. The OMAX is faster than wire EDM (up to 10 times faster). It can also cut both conductive and non-conductive material. In addition, there is no heat-affected zone.
Laser shops Laser shops can capitalize on abrasivejet's ability to cut thicker materials than lasers can deal with. In addition, abrasivejets can cut reflective materials and other materials not suitable for laser cutting.
Aerospace shops Machine shops that work with the aerospace industry use abrasivejets to work with materials that are affected by heat, such as titanium and aluminum. Aluminum is particularly easy to machine with abrasivejets because it is soft and easily (and quickly) cut.
Tooling shops Because the OMAX JetMachining Center can work with hardened tool steel, it is frequently the tool of choice in tooling shops.
Prototype and R&D shops The OMAX software supports standard DXF images, which makes it easy to import files from other CAD programs (such as AutoCAD). This allows for rapid creation of a toolpath, which leads to quick part creation. It's also easy to make changes to the part and create a new tool path.
Maintenance and repair shops The OMAX is ideal for creating replacement parts quickly. When a part is needed in a hurry, repair shops use the OMAX to make one out of any of wide variety of materials.
Manufacturers Manufacturers use the OMAX to control Just-In-Time inventory requirements.
Metal fabricators Metal fabricators appreciate the clean edge plate work offered by the OMAX.
Architectural fabricators Whether it's a large sign for a restaurant, decorative tiles, or intricate design work, the OMAX can create it in a wide variety of materials.
